Dr. Alex Shekhter

Research Leader for Aerospace Platform Systems, Defence Science and Technology Group

Dr. Alex Shekhter is Defence Science and Technology Group’s (DSTG) Research Leader for Aerospace Platform Systems, the Resilience Theme Lead for DSTG’s Resilient Multi-Mission Space (RMS) STaR Shot and the Next Generation Technology Fund (NGTF) Theme Lead for Multidisciplinary Materials Sciences.

Dr Shekhter sits on advisory boards for RMIT’s Sir Lawrence Wackett Defence and Aerospace Centre, DSTG and RMIT’s Structures and Materials Research Program Committee and Monash University’s Materials Science and Engineering Industry Board. Dr Shekhter holds a Bachelor of Materials Science and PhD in Materials Engineering from Monash University where she is also an Adjunct Professor. Dr Shekhter’s research interests include innovative structures and materials technologies, advanced space structures and materials and additive manufacturing.
