Phil Crothers PhD
ATS Affordability and Tech Integration, Boeing
Phil Crothers has 24 years experience with Boeing, mainly in the research field, including automation and composites development and deployment for which he is a Technical Fellow. He has also served in Europe, setting up BR&T offices in Munich, Germany, and Sheffield, UK. He has a PhD from RMIT University and has co-authored the Australian Robotics Roadmap (Manufacturing).
Phil’s most recent assignment was as the Domain Leader for Materials and Manufacturing (MMG) within Enterprise Technology Strategy. During that time, Phil led technology capability planning for the entire MMG Domain and several initiatives including: wiring design for manufacturing, production hardening, and manufacturing computer vision.
Currently, Phil is leading Affordability and New Technology on the Airpower Teaming System (ATS), integrating 40+ roadmaps, including 5 PhDs in the area of sustainable production systems.

Boeing is actively leading within commercial aviation industry ambition of net-zero carbon emmissions by 2050, framed by four pillars: People and Presence, Products and Services, Efficient Operations, and Communities and Industry. This presentation will speak on Boeing Sustainability Goals and relate them to contemporary air vehicles in the local and global context.
